The nature getaway without a car in 3 Great Sites between Aude and Hérault, a project of Network of Great Sites of France, supported by the government and the Banque de Territoires, led by the Grands Sites de France project Cité de Minerve, gorges de la Cesse et du Brian, Canal du
Midi-Béziers and Cité de Carcassonne, in partnership with Hérault Tourisme, Aude Tourisme and the support of the Tourist Offices in these areas.
The Canal du Midi – Béziers, the City of Minerve, the Cesse and Brian gorges and the City of Carcassonne are exceptional, fragile and protected landscapes. They have in common that they are planning to obtain the Grand Site de France label awarded by the State.
The Grand Site de France label: unique, protected and managed landscapes
The Canal du Midi – Béziers, the City of Minerve, the Cesse and Brian gorges and the City of Carcassonne are exceptional, fragile and protected landscapes. They have in common that they are planning to obtain the Grand Site de France label. The latter is awarded by the Minister in charge of the Environment for a period of 6 years, renewable. It distinguishes land management carried out by local authorities and inhabitants and in accordance with the principles of sustainable development.
