In the heart of the oldest vineyard in France, our destination is labeled Vignoble & Découvertes. Awarded by the Atout France organization, after recommendation from the Board
Superior of Wine Tourism, this label recognizes the tourist and wine-growing vocation of our destination. It offers a wide range of complementary tourist products that facilitate the organization of stays and offers qualified services.
First there are our wines! Great wines of controlled designation of origin very popular with connoisseurs for their incredible diversity. Bourboulenc, Grenache Blanc, Marsanne, Grenache Noir, Mourvèdre, Syrah, Cinsault and Carignan make up the palette of eight grape varieties that feeds a wide choice of red, white, rosé and natural sweet wines. They are cultivated in many organic fields, in organic conversion or in reasoned agriculture which tend, from one year to the next, towards an increasingly qualitative progression.
The three great Appellations (AOP) Languedoc, Minervois, Saint-Chinian, and the two IGP, Coteaux d'Ensérune and Pays d'OC, share the soils whose geographical particularities
nourish the terroir. Schists, silty clay or siliceous limestone with fossils, marls rich in iron give the wines the character of the wines. There is added a sun, always generous, which ensures beautiful fruity notes and a certain power.
Welcome to Languedoc, in the heart of the Canal du Midi area in Saint-Chinian. A land of wines par excellence, on which the three AOPs, Saint-Chinian, Languedoc, Minervois, and the Pays des Coteaux d'Ensérune and Oc wines deliver delicious beverages. Their red, pink and white dresses offer visitors scents and tastes of a great diversity, shaped by a mosaic of soils and grape varieties. This is the promise of unmissable wine tourism discoveries, all different from each other, all as delicious as each other.
The experiences around wine live in a bucolic landscape, between scrubland, pine forest, small mountains and flat areas bordering the large reach of the majestic Canal du Midi. Private or cooperative cellars, castles, farms, old mills open the doors to a rich ancestral built heritage. Between two discoveries, in slow tourism mode, gastronomy is obviously invited in multiple forms; good restaurants, some starred, meetings with producers and winegrowers, markets with singing accents! A concentration of assets rich in Men, Nature and Art of living for a change of scenery. Between Canal du Midi and Saint-Chinian let the journey begin…

Our hiking trails and circuits Moutain Biking lead to the discovery of a small, exceptional and omnipresent built heritage: dry stone walls, lime kilns, mills, capitelles... From the Canal du Midi to Saint-Chinian, let yourself be surprised by the presence of numerous dolmens. Go to Assignan, Cébazan and Villespassans to understand their mystery.
