Winegrower walks and cellar visits

Inside the castles, farms, old mill, private or cooperative cellar, visit our cellars and meet our wineries. They open their doors to you with a smile, happy to share their passion for the land.

 


Discovery of the small built heritage

Our paths hikes et MTB circuits lead to the discovery of an exceptional and omnipresent small built heritage: dry stone walls, lime kilns, mills, capitelles ... From the Canal du Midi to Saint Chinian, let yourself be surprised by the presence of numerous dolmens. Meet at Assignan, Cebazan et Villespassans to grasp their mystery.

 

 

Meeting with the winegrowers in the exceptional setting of the Canal du Midi

In the evening, from June to September, tastings wines and local products are unmissable events to meet winegrowers and local producers in a friendly way on the port of Capestang. These meetings are preceded by a discovery tour of the Canal du Midi at 17pm.

 

Lunch in a former cooperative cellar

A Poilhes, the former cooperative cellar located a few dozen meters from the Canal du Midi has turned into a real showcase for the region's wines, offering both catering and accommodation… More information in the "section" savor " and " Housing ».

 

A shopping break at the wine house or in the producers' shops

La Saint Chinian Wine House offers a selection of over 300 references and around thirty wines for permanent tasting. For amateurs, this house was once the home of the father of Charles Trenet, a notary in Saint Chinian. Many others producers' shops welcome you for a tasting and guide you in your choice of wines.

 

Visits to museums and exhibition venues

From the Canal du Midi to Saint Chinian, museums and interpretation centers reveal to you all the richness of the wine heritage of our beautiful region.

 

Wine tours and tasting initiation

Observe a wine, smell it, taste it, interpret the different sensations… you can learn it!
Personalized specialized partners offer van tours through the vineyard, tastings with commentary by the local or even more specialized oenological workshops (assembly workshop, oenology course, etc.) during which you will discover the secrets of the Saint-Chinian, Minervois and Languedoc appellations.

Along the water on a boat, on foot in the nature or through our roads and trails… there are a thousand and one ways to discover our naturally intense vineyard! Here are our tips based on your desires:

By foot

From the Canal du Midi to Saint-Chinian, the vineyard offers a magnificent green setting with diverse landscapes. Through 18 hiking trails, the charm of the banks of the Orb and the vineyards are revealed under the scree eyes of hikers. The heritage is also at the rendezvous: mills, castles, churches, abbeys, capitelles, callades, bread ovens but also dolmens.

 

By bike

23 mountain bike circuits, ranging from 6 to 42 km will delight cycling enthusiasts. The circuit map is available at our reception points or for download. Labeled by the federation Moutain Bike FFC, these circuits are suitable for all levels of sporting activity. 341 km of sensations between scrubland and vineyards... don't wait to get into the saddle!

 

 

By car or motorhome

To explore the vineyard peacefully, just use our discovery card available in our reception centers or in online . Note that some areas offer a reception for motorhomes.
