Fireworks and July 14 national holiday
from the Canal du Midi to Saint Chinian
Celebrate the national holiday in Cessenon-sur-Orb, Saint-Chinian, Capestang, Puisserguier and Creissan! On the program in the villages, entertainment, concerts and fireworks that will brighten up the evening of July 14.
The Bastille Day national holiday is one of the most anticipated events of the year in many regions of France. THE revelry take place throughout the country, and municipalities like Cessenon-sur-Orb, Saint-Chinian, Capestang, Puisserguier and Creissan are no exception. Like every year, these villages in the Occitanie region are preparing to celebrate this special day with a wide variety of activities and shows. Among the highlights of these festivities are the fireworks that light up the night sky, creating a magical and festive atmosphere.
Cessenon-sur-orb
In Cessenon-sur-Orb, the national holiday is an opportunity to bring the community together in a joyful atmosphere. The festivities begin on July 13 from 07:18 p.m. to 30:01 a.m. on the Plan Jean Moulin with the H'TAG 00 orchestra
Then the 14/07, place for the National Day. On the Jean Moulin Plan:
11:30 a.m.: Memorial ceremony
17:30 p.m.: Lotto
19 p.m. to 20 p.m. musical aperitif then from 22 p.m. to 1 a.m.: Ball with the SEVEN Orchestra
Taken from the campsite beach at 23 p.m.: fireworks
Locals and visitors gather on the banks of the Orb, where they can admire the fireworks reflecting in the water, creating an unforgettable visual experience.
Saint-chinian
In Saint-Chinian, the national holiday takes place over two days. The 13th from 19 p.m., there will be the show with DJ “Le grand bal” by Cprod on the Place du Marché.
July 14, from 9:30 a.m.: Games for children organized by the Town Hall, inflatable games offered. At 11 a.m., commemoration in the Town Hall garden.
At 14:30 p.m.: pétanque competition for children and adults and at 19 p.m., a musical aperitif with prize giving for the pétanque competition on the promenade.
À from 22 p.m., there will be the traditional torchlight procession departing from the Town Hall to walk the streets of the village towards the rugby stadium. The sky will be ablaze with the fireworks with a thousand colors!
And from 23 p.m., the ball will begin with the Franck M orchestra!
Capestang
On the Canal du Midi side, the national holiday will bring together residents of the region and visitors, the 14 / 07 from 21:15 p.m. at the Town Hall for torchlight procession and the city tour.
At 22 p.m., on Place Jean Jaurès, a ball is planned with the London orchestra.
À 22:30 p.m., the highlight of the celebration is the magnificent fireworks which will be fired over the Canal du Midi, near the stone bridge over the port, providing a picturesque backdrop for this show breathtaking.
Good to know if you are looking for a privileged place to admire the fireworks in Capestang:
Reserve your place on July 14, to climb the bell tower of the Collegiate Church (about 150 steps).

Creissan
The village is preparing to celebrate the national holiday with enthusiasm during two days full of entertainment, sporting competitions, music and delicacies. From Saturday July 13 from 18:00 p.m., enjoy musical strolls with the Banda JEJE and its musicians, at 19:30 p.m. towards Square Alban Calmel, where a meal organized by Fosh (compulsory reservation on 06 18 73 28 43). At 21:30 p.m., the torchlight procession departs from the Town Hall, wreath laying at the war memorial, then DJ musical entertainment at Square Alban Calmel.
Le July 14 from 8:30 a.m., free pétanque tournament open to all. From 14:30 p.m. to 19:30 p.m., a melee belote tournament at the Salle Maffre. At 16 p.m. free games for children (under 14). Pool games, sack race and egg race.
The municipal swimming pool will be free from 14:30 p.m. to 19:30 p.m.!
