HIKING PRADES-SUR-VERNAZOBRE SAINT-MARTIN-DE-DOUNARO

Description of the sequence : From the town hall, at the roundabout, take the D 177 towards Berlou for about 300 m. Leave the road and follow the tarmac path to the left (picnic area) then to the right the forest track which climbs into the pine forest. Walk past a cistern and
continue straight on until you reach a fork.

At the junction, take the track to the left up to a pass (DFCI tank) which offers a viewpoint over the Caroux massif. At the crossroads, take the path on the left. Ignore the track that goes down to the right and stay on the path that goes up
up to a fork.

At the fork, you can go to the ruins of the chapel of Saint-Martin-de-Dounaro, located about 150 m to the left or down the path to the right which leads to the lower track. At the track, take it to the right. Ignore the path that climbs to the right and continue straight for 500 m.

Leave the track and take the short slope to the left which continues in switchbacks and joins a wider path. From the path, reach the track and take it to the right. Continue the descent for 1,5 km and take (point 2) the forest track to the village, the town hall and the car park.
