When the architecture of Saint-Chinian is savored in music!
The Institute of the Ancienne Abbaye de Saint-Chinian offers you a new season of “Summer Musicals”: 21 concerts including two festivals which run from June to September in historic places in Saint-Chinian such as the abbey church. , the cloister and the parish church of ND de la Barthe. This year during the MusiSC Festival there will be concerts outside the village, in Prades-sur-Vernazobre and at the Domaine de la Dournie.
Passionate, neophytes, curious, music lovers, vibrate to the sound of captivating voices, guitars, organs and pianos in places steeped in history, where the remarkable acoustics will make you experience wonderful moments of exaltation to classical music , opera,
piano recitals, symphony orchestras, vocal ensembles, jazz,
classical, folk, world music… (Brazilian music,
flamenco, Argentine tango, music in a Celtic style, Balkan,
Greek, Kurdish, Turkish repertoire), etc.This perfect marriage which highlights art and architecture is orchestrated by the “Institut de l’Ancienne Abbaye de Saint-Chinian” Association. It comes to life through 21 very high quality concerts, including two festivals: the MUSISC festival (from July 18 to 23), the festivall JAZZ AT THE CLOISTER (from September 5 to 7), with a subtle alliance of styles: Opera, Classical, Jazz, World Music…
Proximity to prestigious artists but also young talents, as well as affordable prices (7-18€), are the major assets “Summer Musicals”. This is what has made these meetings successful since 2016.
This 2025 season will be just as enjoyable as the previous ones, with a quality and eclectic program, accessible to all (detailed program at the bottom of the page). Tickets for the 21 p.m. concerts are available at the tourist office reception points (in Capestang and Saint-Chinian), and on our online ticket office: boutique.tourismecanaldumidi.fr
For even more pleasure, the glass of friendship after the 21 p.m. concerts, in the company of the musicians for a friendly moment, sponsored by a different winemaker each evening.
Some concerts are exported outside Saint-Chinian, to new places, such as the Domaine de la Dournie and the parish church of Prades-sur-Vernazobre. A shuttle service is provided by the association from the village. (Meet in front of the pharmacy 45 minutes before the concert).
A refreshment bar/fast food restaurant will be open from 19 p.m. to 20:30 p.m. to allow you to eat between the two concerts (17:30 p.m. and 21 p.m.).
